What are the Latin America and Caribbean Countries?

Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is an area of the world that encompasses a wide range of countries, cultures, and languages. It is home to some of the most diverse and vibrant nations in the world, including Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama. The region has seen tremendous growth in recent years, with many countries experiencing economic development and improved standards of living. However, Latin America and the Caribbean still have some of the highest levels of income inequality in the world.

USAID has been working with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to help them make progress in areas such as health, education, and economic development. In addition to Spanish, Portuguese, and French, many countries in this region also have English or Dutch as their official language.
