Guatemala sealed its borders at the beginning of the pandemic and has since done so with caution.
Brazil
, Ecuador and Galapagos, Falkland Islands, Guyana are allowing citizens to enter. Tourists can enter Argentina if they can show proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test performed within 72 hours. An additional PCR test is required for all travelers on their fifth day in the country.Before flying, travelers must also complete an online affidavit. Unvaccinated travelers, including minor children, must be quarantined for seven days. All travelers arriving from any African country will need to take an antigen test upon arrival and quarantine for 14 days.
Belize
is allowing citizens and foreign tourists to enter with different entry requirements for each type of traveler.Everyone traveling to Belize must show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test performed within 96 hours. Tourists will only have the option to use approved Gold Standard hotels and tour operators and transportation will be pre-arranged. After February 15, all visitors will need to purchase health insurance.
Bolivia
's quarantine and travel restrictions vary from city to city.All travelers must have proof of medical insurance and a negative PCR test that is performed within 72 hours prior to the flight, depending on the traveler's origin. Regardless of vaccination status, a minimum 10-day home quarantine is required. All travelers will be required to disclose the location of their quarantine in an affidavit and take a PCR test on the seventh day of the quarantine period. Citizens are allowed to fly to Brazil.
All travellers will need to show a negative PCR test, however, unvaccinated travelers will need to quarantine for five days and must be retested at the end of the five days. All travelers must also complete the Traveler's Health Statement before checking in for their flight.
Chile
reopened to foreign tourists in October. All travelers will need to show proof of vaccination, complete the travellers' affidavit and apply for a mobility pass, which could take up to four weeks to process.All travelers will undergo a PCR test upon arrival and must quarantine in a hotel or private residence until they obtain a negative result. Non-resident foreigners arriving from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini or Mozambique will not be able to enter Chile. All travelers over 18 years of age must be fully vaccinated to enter Colombia, in addition to completing the online health form within 48 hours of boarding. Travellers who are not yet fully vaccinated, but who have received at least one dose, may show a negative PCR test, performed within 72 hours, as an alternative.
Costa Rica has opened up to all of the United States citizens and it is no longer necessary to show a negative test or quarantine. Only unvaccinated travelers must show proof of health insurance and complete an online epidemiological form. Costa Rican immigration officials have the authority to determine the length of stay of any visitor, as it corresponds to the dates of coverage of their insurance policy. It is important to check what travel insurance covers COVID-19 (testing and treatment abroad).
