Safety is always an issue when traveling with children, but the Dominican Republic is relatively safe and easy to travel with children. Compared to other parts of the Caribbean we've been to, the Dominican Republic is quite prosperous and most of the coastal towns are relaxed, quiet and safe. Of course, you should always use common sense when you travel to a new place and be aware of your surroundings. But overall, you can be sure that Punta Cana is a safe place to visit with children.
Traveling by plane with a baby has its drawbacks, but also its good side. With a child under one year old, even 2 years old, you will only have to pay airport taxes. When traveling with children, safety is often the number one priority. However, Cancun and Punta Cana are safe places for tourists, as long as you keep up your wits.
